Training, interrupted

Once again, I've fallen off the wagon, so to speak, when it comes to my posting.

But this time there's a reason.

In case you didn't know, Andy and I are Rocky Mountain bound. We're moving to Colorado Springs in a week, so we've spent the last week packing. About 50 boxes down, probably 50 to 75 to go.

So training has slowed down this week, but I'll be right back on the schedule in a few days ... once the last boxes are packed. And, yes, I will be back in August for the big 3Day. Too late to duck out now. :)

Hope you all have been well. Here's wishing you lots of love and good health,
Regan

A double-digit day

For the first time, Andy and I hit 10 miles today. Oy!

It's what the training called for, but it was amusing to me how this evolved. Our original plan was to go over to the forest preserve to hit their 2.8 mile track for about four laps, but it was drizzling so we decided to take what was meant to be a quick walk down the street with Jack, the breast cancer dog.

That turned into an eight-mile trek around northern Palatine.

We broke for dinner and to give the dog time for a nap, then came home and hit the trail again for a final two-mile stroll around the complex.

Now, exhausted, we're both sitting with our feet up watching a hilarious, and somewhat bizarre, film called Lars and the Real Girl and feeling proud of ourselves. That is, I was feeling proud of myself until I realized that in three months, this is going to be a half-day of walking - just one-sixth of the job responsibility.

I repeat - Oy!

Here's wishing you good health, sunny skies and the joy of blister-free feet,
Regan
